Kerrie Goes Head To Head With Phil Tufnell In The Art Stakes at ELLESMERE COLLAGE SHROPSHIRE

Kerrie laughs, not in cricket in art! I didn't realise he was a talented artist and I will enjoy seeing his works and rubbing shoulders with him! I hope anyone who is coming to Shropshire will come and take a look at all the talented artists exhibiting.

I have 4 pieces in fact I painted all of them in lockdown. They are very different to my usual work of the feathers which I am best know for.

I hope you love my Zebra diva in lockdown. I have posted the progress on Instagram of this painting of you want to see me painting it follow KerrieGriffinArtist.

The exhibition will feature landscapes, portraits and abstract art alongside sculptures, ceramics and glass works.

The exhibition will be opened at 7pm on Wednesday 1st June, by its Patrons, Mrs Carolyn Trevor-Jones and past Comic Laureate Charlie Adlard. Many of the artists will be in attendance.

Exhibiting Artists include:

John Alford, Maximiliion Bacanello, Graham Cox RCA, Barbara Goolden, Kerrie Griffin and a selection of works from our feature artist, Phil Tufnell.

Phil says, "I love art. In fact, it's a close call between art and cricket! It's fantastic to get down to my studio , where I've got everything I need and I get tons of inspiration.

I think people are sometimes surprised that art is my thing. I got an O level in art at school (my only one – I was too busy playing cricket!) and my Dad was a silversmith, so there's a history of creativity in my family. I even worked with my Dad for a while when I was turning professional, and I loved it.

I'm not a landscape water-colourist or anything – you won't bump into me and my easel on a country walk! Instead, I love to work in abstract art and with different techniques. My studio is full of spray-paint cans, because I really like the effects I can create."
