Dark Period Lounges - Resolved
This is my 32-foot living room with a dining area. When I moved into my new farmhouse there were floral Benton's carpets with red velvet curtains and white walls and ceiling with very dark-stained beams.
It's now painted in a beautiful French Grey with a grey ceiling the beams are dry brushed in a soft grey with sisal herringbone carpet and cream curtains, There are an array of eclectic finds from antique fairs and my suppliers collected over years. I don't have anything in my house unless I 100% love it.
I think you will agree a big improvement.
The before shots were a few days after I moved in I got the Farrow & Ball paint out and started my work! what a huge project I undertook.
There was a complete lack of identity the light fittings were dated and not practical for a room of this size.
The carpets overpowered the whole room.
There were wooden doors stained to mimic oak! It was dark and dull.
